Town and Country Fires

Town and Country Fires is a family run business based in Pickering on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors. Once farmers, the Thurlow family took the big decision to diversify and as a consequence started the stove business in 1977.

Gaining a wealth of experience over the years and using a combination of old and new techniques has led to the company developing and manufacturing some of the best, energy efficient, solid fuel and wood burning stoves in the world.

Town And Country stoves have an air wash to the glass, which works extremely well, and most have tertiary air at the rear of the fire box too, which burns off gases at the back of the fire that do not normally ignite, thus giving a very clean burn, causing less pollution in the atmosphere.

Town and Country Fires are one of the very few stove people who actually make the stoves from start to finish. All the stoves are finished by hand and some of the stoves are completely hand made, by staff who have worked for us for many years.

Town and Country Cropton 5KW

The Cropton stove combines an attention-grabbing large glass window, slimline body, 5kW output, and incredibly low emissions.

Meeting and even beating all the criteria for the new ‘ECODESIGN’ legislation for lower emissions due to take effect in 2022, when independently tested, the Cropton came away with CO Emissions of only 0.05%, an amazing 50% below the ‘ECODESIGN’ standard. This makes the Cropton a perfect choice for a ‘future-proofed’ stove that will be a statement piece for years to come.

Town and Country Dalby SC 5KW

The Dalby Smoke Control Multi Fuel stove is the smallest of our new range of stoves at 5kW. The Dalby Smoke Control is controlled by two simple levers which are below the door, these levers take the place of the spin wheels. One lever controls the primary air and the second lever controls the secondary and tertiary air. Once the fire is established, there is no need to use the primary air lever except with smokeless fuel, even when re-fuelling.

The Dalby and the Saltburn Smoke Control stoves both have the same interiors & specifications. The Dalby is the curved door model, the Saltburn is the flat door model

Town and Country Harrogate 8KW

The Harrogate stove is a future classic – simple and sleek, perfectly balanced between a modern and traditional look. The Harrogate would look at home anywhere! With its taller build, large glass window, and simple lever controls you’ll always get a brilliant view of the fire.

The large glass window benefits from a built-in air wash, which keeps the glass clean and clear much longer than most stoves. On top of all this, the Harrogate also has tertiary air technology, which re-ignites gases from the fuel to give you more heat and a cleaner burn. Both of these technologies, as well as the main airflow to the fire are controlled by the two simple levers at the bottom of the stove

Town and Country Langdale 7.5KW

The Langdale is an innovative stove that really brings something new to the Town and Country Fires range. Designed in house by our own designer, built and engineered in our factory in Pickering.

This is a fantastic quality stove and as usual, is up to our high standards.

We have designed two different heights of the Langdale to enable the stove to fit into either an open plan room or a smaller fireplace. The overall look of the stove lends itself to either a modern contemporary setting or a traditional Inglenook.

Town and Country Saltburn 5KW

The Saltburn Smoke Control is controlled by two simple levers which are below the door, these levers take the place of the spin wheels. One lever controls the primary air and the second lever controls the secondary and tertiary air. Once the fire is established, there is no need to use the primary air lever except with smokeless fuel, even when re-fuelling.
